I agree that we have a mess on our hands, and we may very well end up in a position similar to what you described in nursing: decades later, but no real improvement. However, my view is that the time is right to have this conversation – with the industry in “chaos” mode, with many of the big brands in decline and with agents as receptive as they are likely EVER going to be – and see what can be done. And thank YOU for taking the time to weigh on on this important issue. I greatly appreciate your contribution to this entire #RTB conversation. And I look forward to more dialogue with you on this point in the future.

If we don’t speak for what to expect from a professional Realtor who will? If we don’t set the standard for entry and continuing in the professional, no one will. We have people out there with licenses using them only to register FSBOs in the MLS. Is that our total worth? NO. We do so much more but if we don’t hold the profession to a standard how can we express our value proposition.
I don’t know how a part-time agent can truly serve their clients. It is hard to get up with all the changes on a full time basis. I think clients get limited help and the agent doesn’t even know that’s what they’re offering.
Thanks for keeping the issue going. We tried this in nursing profession with entry into practice and decades later it is still a mess. Have to set the standard, make the change, short term pain–long term gain
