Biography
Joel is a seasoned communications professional with over 10 years of experience in consumer marketing, public relations, new media and Internet marketing.
He was the founder of the Future of Real Estate Marketing blog which was acquired by Inman News in 2007. Named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Real Estate bloggers in 2007 and 2008, Joel regularly speaks about technology and real estate marketing to audiences across the nation and he is frequently called upon to comment on these subjects by mainstream media like New York Times, BusinessWeek, International Herald Tribune and the Wall Street Journal.
At various points in his career, Joel has been a government bureaucrat, dot-com casualty, PR flack and Shakespearean actor.
In 2007, Joel joined Inman News from Prudential Northwest Properties. As VP of Content, Joel created the popular InmanTV online video magazine and helped program several Real Estate Connect events while there. He left Inman News in 2009 to help launch Vook; an online video and publishing start up.
A veteran world traveler, Joel settled in Portland, Oregon with his wife Amy and dog Maggie after stints abroad in Northeast Asia and Europe. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.
